This year will be my 18th year working in fundraising and marketing. At 23 years old, I traveled around Australia and started working as a face-to-face fundraiser – I had no idea how much I would fall in love with it and build a successful career over the coming years. Now at 41 (quite a lot older and perhaps a little bit wiser…), I’ve been finding myself reflecting on the work I have done for over 30 incredible national and international agencies, charities, and most recently, running my own agency and consultancy.
I absolutely love what I do – I get to work with really awesome people, amazing charities, and fantastic companies who all share a genuine passion about making a positive contribution to the world – making it a more equitable, compassionate, and just place. That passion and those people, and organisations, are what have motivated and driven me over nearly two decades to work as hard as I can to deliver successful programs and add value wherever possible.
Helping organisations find the most effective ways to fundraise and inspire their stakeholders to increase their results – results that enable them to make an even bigger impact on the world – still gives me an incredible buzz, just like the one I got when I first signed up a regular giver, back in Newtown, Sydney in 2003! Fundraisers/sales agents reading this – you know the feeling I’m talking about.
Therefore, finding a team who shares that passion, experience, align with my values, and deliver solutions that are truly taking fundraising and field marketing to the next level is incredibly exciting for me…. and meant the decision to join Briggs + Walker as their Country Director for Australia & New Zealand was an absolute no brainer!
